27 students from EU schools recently received prizes and a
diploma for producing the best translation in their country in the
second annual "Juvenes Translatores" competition.
Aimed at raising the profile of the Translation profession the
second annual competition was held on 27th November 2008. 2,247
students from 593 schools took part in the competition where
participants were required given two hours to translate a text on
multilingualism from any of the 23 official EU languages into any
other language.
Prizes including a two day trip to Brussels will be awarded by
Leonard Orban the European commissioner for Multilingualism.
