Phase 1: Effective
30 June 2002, mobile prefix for Safaricom changed from 72 to 722.
Phase 2: Effective 7 December 2002, area codes were standardized to two
digits. See below.
Phase 3: Effective 30 July 2003, phone numbers were standardized to seven
digits in Nairobi and Mombasa.
