Orion develops multilingual support
Healthcare provider Orion Health has announced it will now provide online multilingual support in English, French and Spanish.
The new Concerto Portal release is designed to allow physicians to give advice over the internet in the language most suitable for the patient.
Michael Craig, vice president of sales at Orion Health North America, said: "Concerto's new support for French ensures that patient information can be accessed by physicians and staff in the language of their choice."
According to the company, medical and diagnostic advice, user assistance and clinical user manuals will all be translated.
Earlier this week, Science Daily reported that European researchers are working on speech-to-speech translation technology which could help break down language barriers world-wide.
Research firm FBK-irst said that there is a particular need for this kind of technology in Europe, where it can be used to facilitate trade and the free exchange of information across all 23 languages of the European continent.
