Our Translators
Working with over 5,000 highly qualified translators worldwide,
we are in the perfect position to fulfill all of your translation
requirements whether it is a one off project or an ongoing
requirement. As one of Europe's leading translation agencies we
receive, on average, 90 new translator applications each week, less
than 20% of these make it on our books. Every translator will:
- Have translated at least 100,000 words
- Have at least two references for previous projects
- Translate only into their native language
- Be appropriately qualified in their technical areas
- Have working industry experience for the material they
translate
We always use translators who live in-country, where this is
appropriate. This is because language is an evolving entity, and
any translator who has been out of the country for a length of time
will be unsuitable to translate material for that target
audience.
The exception to this rule is where the material is aimed at
communities living outside of that country. In these circumstances
a translator from the target country will be used wherever
possible.
Ethical Standards
As all our translators are "in-country" and have differing
standards of living we strive to ensure that all our translators
are paid the going rate for their skills in whichever country they
are based in. We manage this by allowing our translators to enter
their own rates in our dedicated database.
Our Quality Standards
To ensure that the translations we deliver to you are as
accurate as possible, we ensure that at every point in the
translation process, quality checks are built in.
All our translators use dedicated quality assurance procedures
to check all translated materials are returned to the very highest
standards on all projects.
ISO9001
One of the key measures we apply to every aspect of
our business is the application of the internationally recognised
ISO9001 standard.
DIN EN 15038
This is the German standard for translation quality
and is the equivalent of the British Standard. It's currently the
only accreditation specifically designed for translation
services.
Investors in People
We also make a huge investment in
continual training and development for all our staff. To
demonstrate this we have been given the prestigious Investor in
People award. This award is not handed out lightly and the whole
team at Applied Language had to put lot of hard work into achieving
the strict working standards required by the examining board.
