Which languages do you translate?
Mainly English into Japanese. I also translate from Spanish and French into Japanese.
What’s you specialist subject?
Marketing (e.g. Websites), and IT (e.g. online help). I am also interested in specialising in other fields (either Financial or Medical translation).
How long have you been a linguist?
Almost 7 years including my professional experience as an in-house proofreader in Tokyo.
What is the most important thing to do before starting a translation project?
To check the context of the document. I also conduct research on the field to get to know the terminology.
If you could pass on one piece of advice to a customer wanting to use translation what would it be?
Please give us as much reference as you possibly can.
What’s the best thing about being a translator?
Being able to maintain a link between two different language cultures.
What do you consider your biggest achievement is so far?
Having translated an NGO website which will help people to be more aware of the reality and the dangers of antipersonnel mines.

What is your biggest ambition?
To help the world to be a better place.
